Domain parking stats and revenue for some of my hand registered domains (part 1)

June 21, 2010

Just checked my parkings stats and thought I would share some of the visitor and earnings data on some recent hand registrations. Like everyone else, my parking numbers are way down, but with the right names it is still possible to cover reg fees and make some money while waiting to develop or sell names in a portfoilio.

The following stats are for the last 30 days.  For comparison purposes I have also included the Google keyword tool search data for each exact match phrase.

1. ExternalDVDWriters.com (Smartshops)

  • 65 Unique Visitors
  • 85% click-through rate
  • $13.07 revenue in last 30 days
  • keyword data: ‘external dvd writers‘ : 590 exact local monthly searches @ $.89 CPC

2. Free800Number.com (Smartname – standard parking)

  • 19 visitors
  • 32% click-through rate
  • $8.54 revenue in last 30 days
  • keyword data: ‘free 800 number’” exact 1600 local monthly searches @ $4.66 CPC

3. ModernSectional.com (Smartshops)

  • 57 Unique Visitors
  • 86% click-through rate
  • $6.78 revenue in last 30 days
  • keyword data: ‘modern sectional‘: 3600 exact local monthly searches @$1.14 CPC

The above three examples have similar metrics to the types of available names I typically post.   If you would like to receive advance notice of these types of available names, you can sign up for my free newsletter here.

Is that revenue i.e your gross revenue from Smartshops or the revenue in terms of sales revenue from the items sold? If the former, those are some nice stats.

@James – The revenue posted is gross revenue.

Sorry, little confused about the “Gross Revenue”. This is before it is split with you and parking company correct? Is it a 50/50 split?

If you don’t mind my asking, what is the main traffic source for these visitors you counted on your posts? Thanks for the attention!

@Grant – Sorry about the confusion. There is no split. e.g. in example #1, I made a profit of $13.07
.
@Fabio – mix of type-ins and Google/Yahoo traffic.
